  • What is New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association (PSUNYC)?
    The New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association (PSUNYC) is an affiliate group of the main Penn State Alumni Association. The New York City Alumni Chapter serves Penn State alumni and friends residing in and around the five boroughs of New York City. The mission of the New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association is to foster connections for Nittany Lions who live or work in New York City or Westchester County through football game watch parties, happy hours, career development & networking events, joining a sport team, community service or supporting students from the NYC area. Other names for New York City Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association are PSU NYC, Penn State NYC and NYC Chapter.
  • What is the difference between the Penn State NYC and the Penn State Alumni Association?
    The New York City Chapter is an affiliate group of the Penn State Alumni Association. If you're a member of the Penn State Alumni Association, you are automatically a member of the New York City Chapter!
  • Do I need to live or work in NYC to attend an event?
    No! Our events are open to all.
  • Do I need to be a Penn State graduate to attend an event?
    No! Our events are open to all.
  • How can I get involved with the NYC Chapter?
    There are plenty of ways to be involved with our Chapter from joining the Board to helping plan an event to playing on one of our sports teams! You can find more information about how to get involved by visiting this link.
  • Is there an e-mail newsletter from the NYC Chapter?
    Yes! The NYC Chapter periodically sends a newsletter to Penn Staters in the NYC area. If you'd like to subscribe to receive it, please send an e-mail to PSU-NYC-ALUMNI-SUBSCRIBE-REQUEST@LISTS.PSU.EDU and you'll be added to future distributions.
  • Do you sell Penn State NYC shirts and hats during game watch parties or other events?
    We sometimes have a Chapter table set up with select merchandise during our game watch parties or other larger events. You can order all merchandise online here.
  • What are the game watch bars in NYC?
    Spend the day with PSU NYC at one of our featured partner bars or "local" neighborhood game watching locations. Each game watching location will be showing the games on all TVs with surround sound and we will have terrific gameday food and/or drink specials for you!   • How do I make a reservation at a game watch bar?
    Many of our Game Watch Bars take reservations, but some are first come first served. You can find more information on how to make a reservation at our Game Watch Page.
  • I would like to volunteer at a game watch party and get $50 towards my bill. How do I sign up?
    Please fill out this form with your availability and someone from our Board will reach out to you with next steps.
  • Do I need to be a member in order to attend events?
    No! Our events are open to everyone, but we may periodically offer a discount or other incentives for members to attend an event.
  • How do I become a member of the Penn State Alumni Association?
    You can join the Penn State Alumni Association by visiting their website here. Once you join, you'll automatically become a member of the Penn State NYC Chapter.
  • What are the benefits of becoming a member of the Penn State Alumni Association?

  • I am a member of the national Penn State Alumni Association. Does that mean I am also a member of the NYC Chapter?
    Yes!
  • I am a member of the Nittany Lion Club. Does that mean I am a member of the NYC Chapter?
    No, the Nittany Lion Club is not affiliated with the Penn State NYC Chapter.
